PayPal “last action could not be completed”

I was getting an error trying to purchase something using PayPal:

“Sorry — your last action could not be completed”

I thought it was their buy link, but I tried using one of my own links, got the same error.

Ah, probably the settings in my browser, or there’s a problem with the PP site.

In Firefox, if you delete cookies (a good idea periodically, for security), the site gets set to “disable cookies”. It’s a good default behavior, but does cause occasional problems.

Here’s how to enable cookies for a site, in Firefox (I have version 8):

1. Click on the icon left of the browser URL (when you’re on Google.com, shows the Google “g”, when on PayPal.com, shows “PayPal, Inc. (US)”).
2. Click “More Information”
3. Click on Permissions at the top of the Page Info window that pops up.
4. In the Set Cookies line, select “Allow for Session”.
